Four Pillars Gin distillery hop on hop off tour Yarra Valley: proof that Hop It isn't really a wine tour at all. We say it on our homepage and we'll say it again here, this is the stop for anyone who's spent every previous winery day nursing a lemon, lime and bitters while everyone else does tasting notes.
Why Four Pillars has a reputation
Since launching in 2013, Four Pillars has picked up International Gin Producer of the Year from the IWSC three times in 2019, 2020 and 2023. That's not a small trophy cabinet for a distillery that's barely over a decade old. The Rare Dry Gin and Shiraz Gin (yes, a gin made with actual shiraz grapes, very Yarra Valley of them) are the ones to know before you go.

Four Pillars Gin Distillery Tour Yarra Valley: What's Actually on Offer
A gin and tonic paddle to start, guided tastings, hands-on Maker Session masterclasses if you want to distil your own bespoke gin, and a landscaped gin garden that photographs better than most wineries manage with an entire vineyard. If you're after some food then their gin-inspired snack menu will have something for everyone. Bookings are preferred, not always required, but book anyway as some of the sessions fill up quickly.

Where it sits on your day
Four Pillars is on the Red Route, which pairs naturally with Rochford or Domaine Chandon if you want a "one for the wine drinkers, one for everyone else" kind of day. We also always recommend to have your gin-stop as your last stop as it will change your palate for the day.
Check the Red Route timetable and build a Four Pillars stop into your next Hop It day.
