SOUMAH Yarra Valley Wine Tasting: Is It Worth the Hop?

Short answer: yes. Slightly longer answer below.
A SOUMAH Yarra Valley wine tasting comes with a pretty strong pedigree attached - the winery was named Yarra Valley Winery of the Year in 2019 and again in 2024, which in wine years is basically winning the premiership twice with a different team. The pitch is simple, northern Italian wine styles (think nebbiolo, brachetto, marzemino) grown with proper Yarra Valley provenance but the execution is what's earned the trophies. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are the crowd favourites if you want something more familiar to start.

What to Expect from a SOUMAH Yarra Valley Wine Tasting
The cellar door sits alongside Ai Fiori Trattoria, so this is a legitimate lunch stop, not just a "taste four wines and get back on the bus" situation. Order the trattoria menu, take the view in, and if you're feeling fancy, ask about the Premium Wine Room for a more tutored tasting experience.
Booking notes
Booking is required as this one's popular enough that walk-ins are a gamble, especially through peak Yarra Valley season (spring and autumn weekends, we're looking at you).
Why we'd put this on your Hop It day
It's on the Red Route, it does double duty as a proper lunch, and it's different enough from the standard Yarra Valley Chardonnay-and-view formula to be worth the stop on its own merits, not just because it's convenient.
See where SOUMAH sits on the Red Route timetable and build your day around it.
